Led by four incredible leaders – Chris Okumu, Dan Ooko, David Oginga & Kerry Owino – the Furaha Community Centre is a community of hope. A vibrant school of 550 children are taught by committed and talented teachers. A team of cooks serve a daily nourishing meal to every child. 80% of the children are orphaned relying on others to care for them. Everyday every child receives vital friendship, education, physical and spiritual care.Alongside the school a team of dedicated social workers visit the children and their guardians to bring support as well as helping them fight for justice. An AIDS clinic brings support and education to those struggling with AIDS. In this grey intimidating desperate slum where poverty and disease stand alongside crime, addiction and hopelessness the Furaha Community Centre brings light and life.
